I have used the basic System Mechanic for several years. It has been "OK" software and due to renew in Oct. 2022. I noticed that the renewal software includes 1 month of "free $19.95 telephone support, which will be charged to your credit card after the 1st month unless you call or email them to cancel. I did not want or ask for this additional service and now they do not allow customers access to "My Account" feature to change payment. The guy on the "chat feature" claimed he didn't have access also. I then called the 801-523-6763 number that the chat guy gave to me and the circus began. I could barely understand the phone support guy. He claimed my account was closed/cancelled back in July. I told him that was strange as my renewal date is Oct. 2022. He then stated he has closed my account today at my request. NEVER again with this company.

I installed System Mechanic on my girlfriend's old Windows machine. I can't believe how much it improved the overall performance. I was able to clear out a lot of junk.

Don't use this software; first off it doesn't work. 2nd they will hit you with $19.95 monthly service fee out of the blue after 30 days. Called to get refund on software and put through the ringer with hard sale tactics. Finally got monthly service fee canceled, again hard sale tactics. Waiting now to see if refunds are credited to my credit card; if not will disputh charges.
Avoid all these problems and never use this software.

Renwed by subscription for 19.95 and got hit by tech support scam that automatically renewed at 19.95 per month.

Paid for a year on a special offer, then got an email informing me of a technical support subscription payment of $19.95 per month. I didn't sign up for that, so cancelled the automatic payments - thankfully originally payed via PayPal. Still out of pocket as I no longer trust the software or the company and never will again. Also logged into their old payment processor - 2checkout - and deleted all credit card details just to be sure. They're absolute muppets for sneaking this in - avoid iolo system mechanic like the plague.

It confusing. I've been using system mechanic since 2015. It was a great programme. Actually, it still is. But now it throws constant popups on your screen, and is a front for a scam. They will constantly charge your credit card for fake things like 'tech support', and you can't stop it, the only way is to cancel the card. I have my card frozen at the moment and they are constantly trying to take different amounts of money to se what they can get. The 'accounts department' is just a scam centre in India who try to get more from you. Do not touch this company!

Iolo took $21.27 from my back account. I don't have accout with then. Talking to customer service. It was like talking to a wall. No help at all. Ask for their legal department, They say, they don't have one.(BS). A billion dollars company and they can't return $21.27. Becareful watch your bank statment.

While attempting to renew an expiring subscription I my renewal was switched to an "upgrade" and I was charged $27.95. They didn't mention that the "upgrade" would not renew my subscription. They are now billing me for another year's subscription.
They seem to think it is fine to charge $27.95 for three weeks up "upgrade" . . . I see this as a flagrant "bait and switch". They also tried the underhanded addition of the 24/7 tech service subscription last year. I am through with their slight of hand and will no longer be using their products.

Tech Support is terrible, I spoke to Tam who does not listen to anything I have stated.

These guys are a scam. I tried to cancel the automatic 24/7 tech support after 30 days and have been getting nothing but a run around.
